Rosenberger is currently the Associate High School Principal at Governor Mifflin High School in the Governor Mifflin School District in Shillington, Berks County, according to information available online.

She will be paid a salary of $120,000 a year as assistant superintendent at Saucon Valley, which will be pro-rated for the 2018-2019 school year, per the terms of her three-year contract approved by the school board Tuesday.

Rosenberger’s contract will run through Jan. 2, 2022, or three years from the date of her employment, according to the board’s meeting agenda.

According to the approved agreement that was attached to the agenda, “at the conclusion of the 2019-2020 and 2020-21 fiscal year, Rosenberger’s
annual salary shall be reviewed by the Board of School Directors and any adjustments shall be at the discretion of the Board based on the performance of Rosenberger. Such an adjustment shall occur following Board review of the Assistant Superintendent’s performance consistent with the provisions of Section 4 below (which outlines performance standards) and in consultation with the Superintendent of Schools.”

Rosenberger will also be eligible to receive a merit-based incentive payment not to exceed $2,000 at the discretion of the school board, at the conclusion of the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years, per the contract.

She will receive a benefits package in accordance with the district’s fringe benefit program that is made available to other district administrators, and was awarded the ability to transfer 10 sick days from her former employer.

In other business, the board approved the appointment of Michael Sakelarides as interim assistant elementary school principal.

The board also held its annual reorganization meeting prior to the business meeting that was held.

Former board vice president Susan Baxter was unanimously elected president of the school board for a one-year term, replacing Michael Karabin, who has served as board president for the past seven years.

Dr. Shamim Pakzad was unanimously elected to a one-year term as board vice president.

“When I was sitting in the audience I really never realized how important and involved this job is,” Pakzad said to Karabin. “It’s been only in the past year that I’ve gained a lot of appreciation for both the role and also the way Mike has conducted himself.”

“I want to thank you for your service, really,” Pakzad said. “I hope you won’t step back.”

“I appreciate your comments,” Karabin said. He called his board presidency over the past seven years “somewhat of a pleasurable experience” and said of the leadership change, “I think this will work out rather well.”

Absent from the meeting were board members Bryan Eichfeld, Tracy Magnotta and Sandra Miller.

The next Saucon Valley School Board meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. in the high school Audion room.
