Kathryn L. Werkheiser, 88, of Hellertown, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital, Bethlehem. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.

Kathryn L. Werkheiser, 88, of Hellertown, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Robert U. Werkheiser Jr. (who died May 21, 1985). She was born in Fountain Hill on Dec. 19, 1930 to the late Oscar E. and Mildred A. (Edelman) Shook. Kathy worked for eight years as a cashier at St. Luke’s Hospital Gift Shop, Fountain Hill, until retiring in 1993. She was also a seamstress for 12 years at the former Dora Lee Dress Factory in Hellertown. She was a member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lower Saucon Township. Kathy loved greeting her many friends on the front porch of her home.

SURVIVORS

Son: Randy A. “Skeeter” (Sandi) of Hellertown; daughter-in-law: Julia A. Werkheiser of Bethlehem; brothers: William O. in Delaware, Kenneth W. of Allentown, Richard A. of Hellertown; grandchildren: Joshua, Lorrie, Ryan, Charles; great-grandchildren: Adalynn, Lillian. She was predeceased by a son: Jeffrey R. Werkheiser (died March 16, 2015); siblings: Shirley M. Cawley, Gerald Shook, Lorraine Magyrics.

SERVICE

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2019 at Lower Saucon Cemetery, Lower Saucon Township. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
