“This is part of our normal preventative maintenance on the system, and is done to remove accumulated sediment,” a statement from the LSA indicated. “It is the water system’s equivalent of a ‘spring Cleaning.’ As the water will often be briefly discolored (‘rusty’) during this process, customers should avoid running water or especially doing laundry on the day their area is being flushed.”

The area that will be flushed Wednesday, April 10 includes the following streets: Surrey Road, Sunderland Drive, Saucon Dale, North Drive, Woodland Drive, Quarter Mile Road, White Acre Drive, Birch Knoll, Mildred Lane, Jean Lane, Sunrise Lane, West Point Drive and Bingen Road from Hickory Hill Road to Saucon Valley Road.

For future updates about hydrant flushing, follow the Lower Saucon Authority on Facebook. You can also view the complete schedule, here.
