Panther senior Braydyn Lugardo

In a Thursday night high school football special against Salisbury, Saucon Valley found themselves needing all hands on deck during intense 3rd quarter action as the Panthers battled the Falcons.  It was a see-saw scoring affair and Saucon needed points to stay ahead of the Falcons.

In this Panther Play of the Week, Saucon Source reconnects with its Krunch-Time roots to spotlight some incredible effort.  On 3rd & 3 from the Falcon 28-yardline, Saucon Valley was looking to pick up a key first down in a tight game in order to keep a potential scoring drive alive. The Panthers called on running back Braydyn “El Toro” Lugardo to get the job done.

“El Toro” does much more.  Lugardo, a senior, takes Mahaffey’s handoff and blasts past Salisbury’s initial tackler at the line of scrimmage.   The powerful Panther running back, who measures 5’6″, 195, gets a little help from his Panther pals and carries the Salisbury defense on his back for an 18-yard gain.  This Lugardo gem is certainly Krunch-worthy“!

Check out the power of Braydyn “El Toro” Lugardo !

Saucon continued to take full advantage of Lugardo’s efforts.  Three plays later the Panthers parlayed the power of “El Toro” to finish the drive with another touchdown.  The Panthers extended their lead to a 28-14 advantage and then ultimately went on to defeat the Falcons 41-22.

Up Next: Saucon Valley (3-1) will travel to Northern Lehigh (2-1) for a Friday night fight against the Bulldogs in another key Colonial League contest.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Good luck Panthers, the Source is with you!
