It was an exhausting battle between two teams with 3-1 records on Friday night at Northern Lehigh. The Panthers and Bulldogs beat on each other for 47 straight minutes. It wasn’t until this final play that the Panthers secured their victory.
It was 4th & 2 from the Panther 19-yardline with less than two minutes remaining in the game. The Northern Lehigh Bulldogs were driving and looking to even the score or potentially take the lead as time ticked away. The Panthers were on their heels. When the play begins, the Bulldogs pull a guard (#52) to trap Eli Deily (#76). It was a good trap block, but the Panther defensive end tandem of Evan Deily (#65) and Nick Warnke (#77) both beat their blocks while knifing into the Bulldog backfield. Bulldog tough-guy Matt Frame received the handoff and was hit immediately and stuffed for no gain. It was another “Krunch-worthy” play allowing the Panthers to hold on and win 21-14. Saucon Valley improved to a 4-1 record for the season.
