It was another down-to-the-wire finish for the Saucon Valley Panthers in their 2019 Homecoming battle against the Bangor Slaters.  The score was deadlocked at 21-21 and there was short time on the game clock. Saucon Valley needed a score to avoid an overtime scare.  With the score being tied, it was time for Ty!

Overtime was looming and there was less than two minutes on the clock.  Saucon Valley was faced with a 3rd & 9 at the Slater 39-yardline.  The Panthers dialed up a little “wheel route” where it appears as if Saucon was trying to free Alex Magnotta on a slant route to try and pick up a first down.  But, the Panthers took it to the House instead.  As Mahaffey drops back and stares down Magnotta, Ty Csencsits shows as if he is going to block Magnotta’s defender.  However, Csencsits slips away unnoticed and gets behind the Bangor defense.  Mahaffey throws a strike to Csencsits as he wheels up the sideline for the game-winning score!  It was Ty’s second touchdown catch of the night.  With these late-game heroics, Saucon Valley improved to a 5-1 record for the season.

Check out Ty breaking the late-game tie!

Up Next: Saucon Valley (5-1) will travel to Wilson (3-3) for a tough, Saturday afternoon matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

Good luck Panthers, the Source is with you!
