After being closed for more than a month, something is finally brewing at the Starbucks in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley.

It’s their famous coffee, of course.

The Upper Saucon Township lifestyle center announced Tuesday that the popular coffee shop in its Town Square had reopened, but only for mobile order pickup.

According to a story published by CNBC last week, Starbucks closed about half of its company-operated U.S. locations in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Only locations with drive-thru service windows remained open, and in the Lehigh Valley most if not all of those stores were also shuttered.

The Starbucks kiosk located in the Giant supermarket on Rt. 412 in Lower Saucon Township did not close, however it is not a company-operated location. As one of the few Starbucks open in the area throughout late March and April, it has been a draw for coffee-lovers, who sometimes have formed long lines in front of its counter.

The Starbucks in the Promenade Shops does not have a drive-thru window. It closed in late March, when most of the shopping center also shut down due to the pandemic.

Accroding to Starbucks.com, the Promenade Shops store will now be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily for order pickup.

Under store amenities, the site lists oven-warmed food, Mobile Order and Pay and Mobile Payment at its Promenade location.

The store’s phone number is 610-791-3056.

According to Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson, who was interviewed for the CNBC story, the company expects to have more than 90 percent of its company-owned U.S. stores open by early June.

On Tuesday, a message posted on the Starbucks.com homepage said:

Select stores are now open for entryway pickup, grab-and-go service and drive-thru. At most locations, you can order ahead with the Starbucks app, and then pick up at the door or drive-thru. We can’t wait to see you!

Earlier this year Starbucks announced that it plans to open a standalone store inside the former Bank of America branch at Main Street and Polk Valley Road in Hellertown.

That announcement was made before the COVID-19 pandemic began, and it is unclear if the economic fallout from that has the potential to affect any planned Starbucks openings.
