LANTA has announced the launch of ValleyRide, a new fare collection system, in spring 2025. According to officials with the Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority, the upgrade will modernize LANTA’s services by streamlining boarding, simplifying the fare structure and improving accounting operations.
Powered by the Masabi payment and ticketing software application, the new system will integrate with LANTA’s existing Transit app. Riders will be able to pay fares digitally and access real-time bus arrival information through the app without downloading additional software. Cash payments will still be accepted onboard buses.
“ValleyRide marks an important step in our Moving LANTA Forward long-range plan,” said LANTA Executive Director Owen O’Neil.
He added that more details about ValleyRide and the benefits it will offer riders will be released in the coming months.
Darryl Lightner, LANTA’s Manager of Communications & Strategic Initiatives, said the digital fare collection system that will be available through ValleyRide represents an exciting new chapter for LANTA.
More information on ValleyRide is available on LANTA’s website at Lantabus.com.
