The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, in partnership with New Bethany, Provident Bank and Jaindl, are hosting a frozen turkey drive this Friday, Nov. 22, with a goal of collecting 1,200 turkeys to distribute to area families in need this Thanksgiving. The drive will take place at Coca-Cola Park, 1050 IronPigs Way, Allentown, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Community members are encouraged to donate frozen turkeys, preferably 10 to 12 lbs. in size, which will be collected in a refrigerated truck and later distributed to area non-profit agencies. The first 500 donors will receive a commemorative cutting board and a 20 percent off coupon for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs Clubhouse Store, valid from Nov. 22 to Nov. 25.

A New Bethany news release noted that the event has been named the Bob Price Memorial Turkey Drive in honor of Bob Price, who initially created it. A longtime Lehigh Valley banker and former senior vice president of Provident Bank, Price passed away in May 2024.
