Hellertown Man Accused of Attempted Assault While on Ninja Motorbike

A 40-year-old Hellertown man is facing attempted aggravated assault by vehicle and other charges following an alleged incident in which police say he tried to hit a person with his motorcycle.

According to a Hellertown Police Department news release, on Sept. 7 at approximately 5:35 p.m. officers responded to the 200 block of W. High Street for a report of a reckless driver.

“During the course of the investigation, police determined that Casey Donaldson, who was operating a Ninja motorcycle, attempted to hit the victim on a motorcycle, then performing a burnout towards him,” the release said.

Police said Donaldson also allegedly “head butted another victim using his helmet.”

“Before the assault, Donaldson was seen operating his bike at a high rate of speed, performing ‘wheelies,'” police said.

According to police and court records, in addition to attempted aggravated assault by vehicle, Donaldson is charged with simple assault, endangering the welfare of a person and reckless driving.

The court docket filed in his case indicated that Donaldson was released on $100,000 unsecured bail following a Sept. 8 preliminary arraignment before District Judge Alan Mege in Lower Saucon Township.

A preliminary hearing before Mege is scheduled to be held at District Court 03-2-04 on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m., according to the docket.

The docket did not list an attorney for Donaldson.
