Coopersburg Man Killed in I-78 Crash

A 22-year-old Coopersburg man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on I-78 in Lower Macungie Township late Thursday night.

Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio said Ryan W. Gretz was driving a vehicle that collided with a tractor-trailer near mile marker 54.3 on I-78 east. The crash happened around 11:27 p.m., and Gretz was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:28 a.m.

After performing an autopsy, Buglio said Gretz died from multiple blunt force injuries and ruled his death an accident.

The coroner’s news release said Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s office are investigating the crash.
