Skill Game Machine ‘Trick’ Nets Thieves Large Payout, Police Say

Pennsylvania State Police say a pair of suspects stole nearly $1,700 from a skill game machine in upper Bucks County last month by using a device to “trick the machine” into printing payment vouchers.

According to a July 6 news release from the Dublin barracks, the theft happened June 24 at the Sunoco at 2099 Quaker Pointe Drive, Milford Township, near Quakertown.

Police said the unidentified suspects “used some sort of device to trick the machine.” They said the device made it appear they were “depositing cash” when they weren’t.

The vouchers that were fraudulently obtained were “ultimately cashed by the cashier” and netted the thieves approximately $1,680, according to the release.

Police said the incident was reported the following day and remains under investigation.
