“The residential summer program for talented high school musicians focuses on chamber music and symphonic wind ensemble performance, with a full daily schedule of rehearsals, private lessons, seminars and performances,” the release said. “Students are admitted to the program by audition and have the opportunity to interact with distinguished Susquehanna faculty and other musically gifted peers.”

The program culminated with a concert conducted by Eric L. Hinton, associate professor of music and director of bands at Susquehanna.

In addition to professional training and performing, participants enjoyed social activities such as a game night, pool party and a trip to Knoebels Amusement Resort in nearby Elysburg.

Susquehanna University is located in Selinsgrove, Pa.

Allyson is a senior at Saucon Valley High School and the daughter of Mark and Julie Starr.
