Sally, a young pit bull, was first brought to The Lehigh County Humane Society over a year ago. She was emaciated and had multiple gashes all over her body, including a huge gash that went down to her skull, as seen in a picture (below). Her sad story was documented by local media, including Lehigh Valley Live in November 2015.

Since being rescued, LCH staff have worked hard to restore Sally to good health.

She was adopted but later returned to the shelter because she was not getting along with another dog in her new home.

Unfortunately, Sally then began to be overlooked, because she was labeled as “not being good with other dogs.”

About a month ago, LCH asked A Furry Tail Come True co-owner Anthony Schwickrath if she could be accepted for AFT Dog Training, to see if training could help her behave when she sees another dog.

The Lehigh County Humane Society reported on its Facebook page that “she exceeded all of our expectations” as a trainne, and is now “doing absolutely wonderful with her training.”

“She LOVES playing with one of our other board-and-train fosters, Trac, our dog Apple and all of the employees’ dogs, so we feel she would do well in a home with another dog and the right owners,” the humane society wrote in its post.

Sally has a sweet temperament, and is ready to be adopted by an owner who will keep up with her training.
