Hellertown Police and others responded to an accident involving a bicyclist at the Water Street rail trail crossing adjacent to Water Street Park Friday afternoon.

According to an eyewitness, the male bicyclist who was struck did not appear to have been seriously injured in the accident that involved a grey GMC Denali 4-door pickup truck.

The man did appear to be shaken up after going underneath the truck, but refused transportation to a local hospital, she said.

It was not immediately clear if either party will be cited as a result of the accident, which occurred in an area where relatively high volumes of pedestrian and vehicular traffic often intersect.
