Items Stolen from Unlocked Vehicles in Steel City, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police are reminding residents to lock their cars after reports were recently received of thefts from unlocked vehicles in Steel City.

In a post Monday on the department’s Facebook page, police said two unlocked cars were entered in the 2000 block of Johnston Avenue and the 2000 block of Snyder Avenue, respectively.

Police said the car on Johnston Avenue was entered sometime between Feb. 15 and 11 a.m. Feb. 26 and the car on Snyder Avenue was entered sometime between 5 p.m. Feb. 22 and 7 p.m. Feb. 23.

“As mentioned in previous alerts and crime prevention tips, please always lock your car doors and do not store valuables in your vehicle,” police said. “Generally vehicles which are locked over by a potential thief and are not entered.”
