St. Luke’s patients now have the ability to seize control of their healthcare with just a click of a button–not only on their computers, but also on their mobile devices. Among the many features available at their fingertips are test results, appointment requests and the ability to chat with their physicians.

Revolutionizing the way Lehigh Valley patients manage their health care,Ā St.Ā Luke’s has introduced a ā€œPatient Portalā€ on the newĀ St.Ā Luke’s MyChartĀ mobile app (click here to download the app for Apple devices; click here to download the app for Android devices).

Patients now have the ability to seize control of their healthcare with just a click of a button–not only on their computers, but also on their mobile devices. Among the many features available at their fingertips are test results, appointment requests and the ability to chat with their physicians.

The Patient Portal is possible thanks toĀ St.Ā Luke’s successful roll-out of the Epic electronic medical record system across the Network’s physician practices in recent months.

ā€œWe just brought Epic to our 300-plus outpatient practices, further driving primary and specialty care accessibility in our communities,ā€ saidĀ St.Ā Luke’s Chief Information Officer Chad Brisendine. ā€œThe Network’s patient-focused approach promotes accessibility and ease-of-use. We’re making it convenient and simple for our patients to manage their health care from anywhere, at any time.ā€

AlreadyĀ St.Ā Luke’s is in the midst of planning its next app release, targeted for 2018. The new app will include upgraded scheduling, find-a-doctor and find-a-location functions.

ā€œWe are strengthening our relationship with our patients through better technology,ā€ Brisendine said. ā€œWe believe our patients should be able to reach usĀ from anywhere, at any time.ā€
