Instead of Monday, Feb. 16, following a soft opening the decision was made to officially open Thursday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m., after it was determined that staff and the facility are ready to welcome patrons.

The kitchen at Taps will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., starting Thursday.

The new bar and restaurant will feature more than 40 draft beers and a menu featuring traditional bar food as well as comfort foods like grilled cheese, sloppy Joes and wings, according to its website.

Renovations at the building that will house Taps have been ongoing since the fall, when it was announced that Lee–who also owns Braveheart Highland Pub in Hellertown–had purchased the former Starters Pub in the Saucon Square shopping center on Rt. 378.

Rave reviews have already been posted on Taps’ Facebook page.

“The restaurant exceeded my expectations!” wrote a customer who attended the soft opening. “We will be back again and again and again! Thanks for a great night TAPS!”

Another attendee said she “had a wonderful evening at Taps,” and added that the “food, staff and atmosphere were excellent!”

Taps Tavern is located at 3731 Rt. 378, Bethlehem.
