Canal Road Bridge
The Canal Road North Bridge along Rt. 611 in Raubsville, Williams Township, Northampton County, recently opened to traffic, along with a section of the D&L Trail that had been closed while it was under construction. The new trail crossing at the bridge features woodens steps with built-in metal guide rails to help cyclists more easily maneuver across it.

A bridge in Raubsville, Williams Township, has reopened to traffic, along with an intersecting stretch of the D&L Trail.

The Canal Road North bridge was closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic starting in late January for the construction of a new span across the Delaware & Lehigh Canal. The bridge carries traffic from Raubsville Road and Rt. 611 (S. Delaware Drive) onto Canal Road, which is a one-way street that parallels the canal to its west and the Delaware River to its east.

Those using the D&L Trail in the area of Canal Road must cross the bridge to continue north or south on the trail. New wooden steps connecting the trail to the bridge feature metal guide rails to help cyclists pull their bikes up or down the steps.
