Local Restaurant to Close Pending Ownership Transfer
A landmark local restaurant in the Saucon Valley area will close temporarily due to an impending change in ownership.
Ye Olde Spring Valley Tavern owners Donna and Warren Walters announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page Friday that the last day of operations under their ownership will be Saturday, Aug. 9.
“At that point the restaurant will be closed until the transition is complete,” the post said.
“We appreciate all of our Spring Valley family and community for their love and support over the years,” the Walters said. “Thank you, we love you all.”
Over the next week, an abbreviated menu will be available at Ye Olde Spring Valley Tavern, which is located in the village of Spring Valley in Upper Saucon Township.
The restaurant is known for its fresh trout dishes featuring fish harvested on the property in spring-fed ponds, as well as its long history of hospitality, which dates back to the early 19th century.
On the Facebook post announcing its sale, many patrons are sharing their gratitude for the Walters’ stewardship of the property over the dozen or so years they have owned it.
“Thank you for the wonderful meals and atmosphere,” one person said. “Wishing you all the best!”
