A restaurant chain specializing in burritos and other Mexican fare will soon be opening on Rt. 412 in Lower Saucon Township.

The Bubbakoo’s Burritos franchise next to Giant in the Creekside Marketplace shopping center will open on Tuesday, Aug. 26, according to information on Bubbakoos.com.

A company representative said in late May that the new location would likely open in mid July.

The Bubbakoo’s Burritos menu includes a variety of build-your-own burrito combinations, with protein options that include grilled chicken, shredded chicken, crispy chicken, hibachi steak, hibachi shrimp, steak and shrimp, Philly steak, barbacoa, ground beef and carnitas as well as fried cauliflower, fajita veggies and guacamole. Customers can also customize their burrito order with a signature sauce such as General Tso, Sweet Chili, Sriracha Ranch, Chipotle Crema or Ghost Pepper and choose from a variety of traditional additions such as rice, beans, salsa, pico de gallo, sour cream, onion, cheese and jalapenos.

Bubbakoo’s Burritos began in 2008 in Point Pleasant, N.J., with a store opened by entrepreneurs Bill Hart and Paul Altero. Nearly 20 years later, the company has grown to include over 100 locations in 15 states, according to its website. Currently, the nearest Bubbakoo’s Burritos is located in the Trainers Corner shopping center on Rt. 309 in Quakertown.

The new Bubbakoo’s Burritos will be located at 1892 Leithsville Road, Hellertown.
