Elizabeth (Walliser) Bergstresser (1934 – 2026)

Elizabeth (Walliser) Bergstresser, 91, of Wallace Township, Chester County, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Freedom Village, Coatesville. She was the beloved wife of the late Ray Bergstresser, who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2019. Born in Easton on Oct. 3, 1934, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Frederick Sr. and Philomena (Hettel) Walliser. Liz was an artist, a gardener, a tennis player, a seamstress, a Christian and a lover of music, books and life. She was known for her kindness and warmth. Liz tithed and gave generously. She taught Sunday school and pottery classes. She crushed on the tennis court, winning many local tournaments and going to a national championship in her late 70s. Her Viennese Special cookies won a contest, and her mouth-watering pies were requested at every family picnic. Liz had a knack for growing things. She kept a beautiful garden and knew the names of all kinds of plants and trees. Zinnias were her favorite. She was an advocate for animals, donating often to her local shelters. But most of all, she was the heart of her family, adored by her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

SURVIVORS

She is survived by her children: Tad R. Bergstresser (Betsy) of Poway, Calif., and Ann E. Juenger (Scott) of Glenmoore, Pa. She also leaves behind her sister: Norma Vonfricken of Lowell, Mass.; and grandchildren: Claire, Josephine, Luke and Max. She was preceded in death by her son: Glen L. Bergstresser; and siblings: Frederick Walliser Jr. and Louise Marvin.
