Traffic Advisory Issued for Ringhoffer Road
Local police and other officials are warning area motorists to expect delays in the area of Ringhoffer Road in Lower Saucon Township both on Monday and in the coming weeks.
The township police department has issued a traffic advisory for Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., when the road will be closed between Sherry Hill and Easton roads for milling work being done by a contractor at the intersection of Easton and Ringhoffer.
The milling is related to the recent completion of a gas main replacement project by UGI.
According to a township email, final paving work will continue to tie up traffic in the area through mid-October, weather permitting, on Easton Road from Ringhoffer Road to Church Lane and on Ringhoffer Road between Easton Road and Sherry Hill Road.
Motorists should expect to encounter single-lane traffic with flaggers in place to direct them through active work zones.
“Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and expect delays during this time,” police said in a statement about Monday’s road closure published Saturday on their Crimewatch site. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation.”
Ringhoffer Road is heavily used as a connection between Applebutter and Easton roads, which are two of the main east-west thoroughfares in the eastern part of Lower Saucon Township. The road also connects to Applebutter near Bethlehem Landfill and other industrial properties.
