Tyson Johnson serves as fire chief for Southeastern Volunteer Fire Company. He also works for the Lower Saucon Public Works road crew, so if he isn’t responding to fire calls in the Hellertown-Lower Saucon area he’s helping to make the roadways safer to drive. Whether it involves re-paving the roads or plowing snow, Tyson is a true Hometown Hero!
Editor’s Note: Ty responded to the news of his nomination by noting that “there are many great people in Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township emergency services.” He said, “I am just a small part of it. Our families also sacrifice a great deal so we can help the community, and without their support we couldn’t put the time in that we do.” Southeastern and the other local volunteer fire companies “are always in need of help, not just (with) fighting fires but (with) driving or work around the station,” he added.
