Saucon Source Little Panther Football Playoff Rundown (Brought to You by EMB Contracting)
Saturday, the 90s, 110s and 130s of the Saucon Valley Little Panthers all took the field in the first round of Colonial Youth Football League playoffs. The 90s and 130s played at Dimmick Park while the 110's hit the road to Southern Lehigh.

Saucon Valley senior, Steve Rose, was called upon to carry the ball one time in the Panthers home season opener against the Bangor Slaters. Sure, he caught four passes for 51 yards and a touchdown. But, Rosey made the most of his opportunity and turned that one touch into this exciting 51 yard touchdown.

The Saucon Valley Panthers opened the 2017 season with a convincing 43-13 win over the visiting Bangor Slaters Friday night. Offense, defense and special teams all had their bright moments for the Panthers, but there are, no doubt, some areas of concern for Coach Sams and staff to iron out as they move forward. Considering it was the first game of the long season, however, the Panthers proved to be on track as they pursue a fourth consecutive league title.

A meeting in the Saucon Valley High School auditorium between ABC News staff, parents and students about a documentary currently under production did not go as planned Thursday night.

After Email Threat, Schools Will Have Heightened Police Presence on First Day
The acting superintendent for Saucon Valley School District, Dr. Susan Mowrer-Benda, announced in an email to parents Tuesday that there will be a heightened police presence when school opens Monday because of a threatening email that was sent to hundreds of eighth and ninth graders last week.
ABC Plans to Film First Day of School, Parent Meetings Set for This Week
In a letter to families published on an ABC News website last week, Lincoln Square Productions--which is currently filming a documentary about racial tension and how it's being addressed in the Saucon Valley School District for A&E--promised to keep any disruption caused by filming in the schools to a minimum, but said its producers plan to film on the first day of school, which is Monday, Aug. 28.

The 16th annual Hellertown-Lower Saucon Community Day was held Saturday and drew hundreds of local residents to Dimmick Park, where more than 70 vendors representing dozens of local businesses and organizations were gathered.
