Bucks County Prison Guard from Upper Black Eddy Charged With Fraud

A Bucks County corrections officer who took undercover investigators on a paid, guided fishing trip this summer while receiving workers’ compensation has been charged with fraud and theft.

DA: Unexploded Bombs Could Still Be Live Throughout Upper Bucks

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said Tuesday that some explosive devices allegedly deployed earlier this year by suspected Upper Bucks bomber David W. Surman Jr. and his alleged co-conspirator and girlfriend Tina May Smith could still be live and a danger to members of the public. Devices have been linked to explosions in Milford Township, as well as Ottsville and Upper Black Eddy.

Bucks County DA Matthew Weintraub on Thursday announced the arrest of David W. Surman Jr., 30, of 2470 N. Old Bethlehem Pike, Milford Township, at a news conference at Richland Township Police Dept. headquarters. Surman was later arraigned on felony charges of unlawfully possessing or manufacturing weapons of mass destruction.

DA Announces Charges Against White Student After Pep Rally Fight Probe

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli announced at a news conference Tuesday that following an investigation, his office will pursue charges of ethnic intimidation and cyber harassment against a 14-year-old Saucon Valley High School student who allegedly filmed and shared on social media a racist video of a 16-year-old black student, which led to a fight at the SVHS Homecoming Pep Rally in October.
