Saucon Valley Girls B-Ballers Lose Home Opener to Notre Dame (Brought to You by Andrew & Sonya Hughes)

Saturday’s home openers for the Saucon Valley varsity and JV girls basketball teams didn’t exactly go the way the players and coaches wanted them to, but they were a start, and there is plenty of time left this season for the Panther girls to turn things around. The varsity team lost to Notre Dame-Green Pond¬†59-12. The JV team’s game was more competitive, but the Panthers still came up short, losing to the Crusaders 36-29. For the varsity team, Saucon’s high scorer was sophomore Ally Frace, who netted 6 points during the game.¬†Notre Dame’s high scorers were Antonia Bates and Grace Hezel, each of whom landed 14 points for the Crusaders. In away play on Monday, the Lady Panthers lost to Palmerton, 64-30.

Lady Panthers Finally Get it Done With a 52-38 Victory Over Pen Argyl!

Two struggling programs faced off Thursday night in search of a rare victory. Both Pen Argyl and Saucon Valley had an opportunity to climb out of the Colonial League East division basement. The Lady Panthers and Green Knights rolled up their sleeves and went to work on the hardwood. On this night, it would be Saucon Valley that would emerge with the victory.

Gritty Panthers Battle But Fall to Lady Crusaders

Last night the Saucon Valley Lady Panthers hit the floor at Notre Dame Green Pond High School to battle with the Colonial League East leading Crusaders. Notre Dame is a traditional basketball powerhouse and put their record on the line against the Panthers. The Panthers were not able to keep pace on the scoreboard, but they certainly showed a tremendous amount of grit and played with an admirable, spirited effort. The Panthers fought hard, but lost 53-27.
