A Hellertown man is charged with felony criminal use of a communications facility and felony sexual abuse of children, after authorities say he was found in possession of images that were classified as child pornography last June, the Express-Times reported Wednesday.

The newspaper reported that Brian Paul Williams, 35, of the first block of E. Depot Street, has been under investigation by local authorities since last summer, when a former roommate reportedly provided a written statement to police about Williams’ alleged viewing of child pornography in the home they shared.

Hellertown Police obtained a search warrant and seized multiple computers from the home, which were later forensically analyzed and found to contain 180 files–including 100 still images–classified as “child abuse,” the article indicated.

Williams was arrested Wednesday and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $25,000 bail following an arraignment before District Judge David W. Tidd, online court records indicated.

Online address records list Williams’ address as being in the 100 block of E. Clarke Street.
