Now that March snows are melting the thoughts of many Saucon Valley residents are turning toward perennial spring and summer pastimes…like going to yard sales.

One of the most popular community yard sales in the area is the Hellertown Community Yard Sale, which this year will be held Saturday, June 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., borough-wide. Businesses are also being invited to participate by hosting sidewalk sales in front of their stores.

To participate you must be a borough resident or business owner.

The deadline to register is Friday, May 26, and registration forms are available in the lobby at Hellertown Borough Hall, 685 Main St., Hellertown, during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Permits can also be filled online at HellertownBorough.org by clicking on “Your Community” and then scrolling down to “Community Yard Sale” (note that there are separate application forms for residents and business owners).

The borough’s $5 permit fee is traditionally waived for the Community Yard Sale.

For more information about this year’s event, contact Jessica O’Donnell at the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce at je******@le*****************.org or 610-573-4010. There is also a Facebook event page for the yard sale where information and updates will be shared.
