Opened in 2009, the 1+ acreĀ park, which is open from dawn toĀ dusk, features separate areas forĀ small and large dogs,Ā landscaping and seating for dog owners. Weather conditions and routineĀ maintenance require closures of the popular facility from time to time,Ā which are posted on the township’s website. However, visitors arriving at Polk ValleyĀ Park with their dogs had to parkĀ and walk over to the Dog ParkĀ to see if it was open or closed.

The new sign, which wasĀ unveiled by Council PresidentĀ Ron Horiszny on Dec. 15,Ā 2014, will display theĀ open/closed status of the facilityĀ to visitors as they drive into theĀ park.
