N-Tensity Fitness–which is located in the Giant Shopping center on Leithsville Road in Lower Saucon Township–may look small from the outside, but this cardio gym has a lot to offer. Locally-owned and operated by Nick and Eileen Barone, the 3,000 square-foot fitness facility opened in February 2013.
It’s easy to tell from the friendly greeting you get when you walk through the front door to the staff of certified personal trainers to the high tech equipment and heart monitoring systems that the staff at N-Tensity Fitness is dedicated to providing a positive and welcoming environment often not found in larger gyms.
Nick says he and his wife view the services they offer as more of a mission than a business. The reasonable prices, small class sizes and the Barones’ dedication to the community keep patrons coming back for more.
As evidence of that dedication, this month N-Tensity will hold a Row-A-Thon to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank–an organization that is well-known for its fight against hunger in the Lehigh Valley.
Second Harvest, which is based in Allentown, distributes food to dozens of local pantries, including food banks at New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church and Ebenezer New Reformed Church in Lower Saucon.
The Row-A-Thon will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17 at the gym, and will feature participants who have agreed to spend an hour on one of the gym’s many state-of-the-art rowing machines to raise money for Second Harvest.
The Barones explained that they decided to hold the Row-A-Thon as a means of giving back to a community that has given so much to them.
Membership isn’t required to participate, and for anyone who has considered joining a local fitness program the event will also be an opportunity to see what N-Tensity Fitness is all about.
Participants are encouraged to sign up and collect donation pledges prior to the event, but cash and nonperishable food donations will also be accepted the day of the event.
More information about the Row-A-Thon is available by calling 610-838-1724 or stopping by the gym, which is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
