Stoppages to Slow Traffic on 412 in Bethlehem Wednesday

Intermittent traffic stoppages for the setting of temporary roadway barriers at Shimersville Road and Rt. 412 in Bethlehem Wednesday and early Thursday will cause delays, PennDOT said in a March 19 news release.

According to the release, the stoppages will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and again from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday, and will require the use of flaggers to maintain a single lane of travel.

Motorists should consider the use of alternate routes and be prepared for delays, PennDOT said.

The road work is part of an ongoing Rt. 412 widening project in Bethlehem and Hellertown.
