In a news release issued Monday, police said Kaitlin Alice Berardesca, of the 1900 block of Saucon Dale Circle, Lower Saucon Township, was traveling east in the 1900 block of Waldheim Road at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday when she crested a hill and struck the red Chevy Cavalier that was being driven by the teen.

Police said the girl was turning left (west) onto Waldheim Road when the crash occurred.

The speed limit on that section of road is 30 m.p.h., and Berardesca was cited for allegedly driving at an unsafe speed, police said.
