Girls Stole More Than $2K in Valuables from Cars, Police Say

Two girls ages 12 and 14 respectively stole numerous items valued at approximately $2,129 from vehicles parked on New Jersey and Detweiler avenues earlier this month, Hellertown Police said in a news release Monday.

According to police, all of the valuables were ultimately recovered.

The alleged thefts from unlocked cars occurred early on the morning of July 16, and were reported to Saucon Source that day by residents who said they were victims.

In one case the girls allegedly stole a laptop and a woman’s purse.

The girls are now facing charges including theft from a motor vehicle (conspiracy), criminal conspiracy to commit theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct and scattering rubbish, police said.
