Arlene S. Engleman Cannon, 78, of Quakertown, formerly of Emmaus died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown. She was the wife of the late Jerry B. Cannon and the late Richard N. Engleman. Arlene was born in Hellertown on June 10, 1937 to the late Edwin Stanley and Estella (Moyer) Longenour. She was employed as a nurse’s aide for the State of Arkansas at the Children’s Colony for 10 years before retiring. Prior to that, she was a self-employed housekeeper in the Emmaus area for 27 years. While living in Arkansas, Arlene volunteered her time baking for the Drasco Fire Co.

SURVIVORS

Children: Gary L. (Janice N.) Engleman of Emmaus, Debbie A. (Gary M.) Moser of Danielsville; siblings: Sadie Bissinger of Bloomsburg, Louise Dries of Alburtis, Lamar Bauder of Danielsville; grandson: Michael L. Engleman; great-granddaughter: Angela K. Engleman. She was predeceased by son: Richard R. Engleman (Feb. 15, 2012); and brothers: Ralph H. Longenour, Raymond and Kenneth Bauder.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10:30 a.m. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
