A Lower Saucon Township man has been charged in connection with the alleged threats against administrators that prompted a brief lockdown at Saucon Valley schools Wednesday and alarmed scores of parents.
In a news release issued Friday, township police said Thomas Small, 40, of the 2100 block of Sherbrook Drive, made an indirect threat against two school officials that was reported to them by a relative.
Police said Small was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation after he was located at his home Wednesday, and characterized the lockdown as an “extra safety precaution.”
Small has been charged with two counts of making terroristic threats, which police said is a first-degree misdemeanor.
In a statement issued Wednesday, school district superintendent Monica McHale-Small said the person who made the alleged threats is the parent of a former student.
