Lower Saucon Township Police say a Fresno, Calif., tractor-trailer driver will be citedĀ for a backing violation after he allegedly caused an accident by backing into a car at a stop sign at Seidersville Road and Old Philadelphia Pike on the afternoon of Oct. 22.big-truck-29919_1280

In a news release issued Tuesday, police said Malkiat Singh, of the 2900 block of Home Avenue, realized too late that the GPS in his truck had taken him to a roadway that has a posted 10-ton weight limit on it.

Once he realized that he could not proceed, police said Singh began backing up, striking a car that was behind him waiting at a stop sign and pushing it into a vehicle that was further back.

Both of those vehicles were being operated by Allentown women, police said.

“Fortunately no injuries were sustained by anyone involved in the accident,” police added.
