Say “Hello” to these 2015 Colonial League Soccer All-Stars! All four are seniors at Saucon Valley High School and all four are just fantastic young ladies. And, they’re not bad soccer players either. In fact, they are all such good soccer players that the Colonial League coaches recently recognized them with “1st Team” honors!
Lauren Binn “LB” (midfielder)
Lauren started playing soccer when she was six years old. She was named “All-State” in 2014 as well as this past 2015 season. Lauren is tied with her sister Alicia for career goals at Saucon Valley. She is planning to attend either the University of South Carolina or Penn State University next year and major in Business. As far as soccer in the future, Lauren is planning on playing club soccer at whichever college she attends.
Paige Jones (forward)
“Pay-jee-J” started playing soccer when she was five years old. She has scored over 50 goals in her Saucon Valley career and was also named “All-State” for the 2015 season. Paige was a very good basketball player in middle school but decided to focus her talents on the soccer field. Paige will be playing soccer for West Chester University next season.
Kylie Paul (defender)
Starting her soccer career in kindergarten, Kylie was fond of basketball and track in middle school. But, she too, made the decision to excel at soccer. Kylie’s defensive contributions, no doubt, were key to a school record of 11 shut-outs in a row this year. She is looking forward to college and becoming a physician’s assistant. Kylie is uncertain whether she will play soccer in college but, says that she will at least play “club”.
Annika Sundlof (midfielder)
Annika, like her teammates, started soccer at an early age when she was “five or six”. She ran track and cross country in middle school and is looking forward to swimming in the winter. As far as college is concerned, Annika is still weighing her options. Annika said she may play in college if she decides to attend one of the “D3 schools” she is considering. Otherwise, Annika is content to play intramural or club.
All four are great students, great players and (best of all!) great people. They are hard workers and have been rewarded with academic and athletic options. These girls have bright futures ahead and have certainly made Saucon Valley proud over the years. No matter what path in life they choose, success will find them. These girls are definitely worthy of a Saucon Source salute.
Best wishes to the entire Saucon Valley girls soccer team in their District XI match-up with Palisades tomorrow. A win against Palisades would advance the Panthers to the next round of the District XI tournament and give Coach Ochse her 150th career victory. Good Luck, the Source is with you!
