The 2015 Saucon Valley High School football team has already made history, advancing further in postseason play than any other football team in the modern history of the district. But that doesn’t mean the Panthers don’t want to go further, and they’ll have the opportunity to on Friday, Dec. 4 when they face off against the Selinsgrove Seals in the PIAA state football championship quarterfinal round in Slatington.
Excitement for the game has been building all across the Saucon Valley since the Panthers defeated Scranton Prep 42-20 in the championships’ first round Friday.
To reward residents for displays of “Panther Pride,” Saucon Source and Burke Insurance Agency are sponsoring a Facebook photo contest, and local businesses are participating in a group ad on Saucon Source that congratulates the team on their success so far this season.
Friday’s game will begin at 7 p.m. (gates will open at 5:30 p.m.) at Northern Lehigh Bulldog Community Stadium, 1 Bulldog Lane, Slatington.
