In a news release police said Werner H. Rose, of the 100 block of Coffeetown Road, was southbound on Wassergass Road when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a left turn in the road in the area of Southeastern Park.

Rose’s car left the roadway and struck several utility poles “used as landscaping” before coming to a rest in the pond, police said.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the 7:08 a.m. crash, they added.
