Two women–including one from Florida–were arrested on charges including underage drinking, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia New Year’s Eve, Hellertown Police said Monday in a news release.

Two women–including one from Florida–were arrested on charges including underage drinking, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on New Year’s Eve, Hellertown Police said Monday in a news release.

According to police, Kelechi I. Okpe, 20, of the 4700 block of NW 24th Court, Fort Lauderdale, and Ashley Elizabeth Mickelson, 20, of the 1700 block of Barrett Drive, Bethlehem, were parked behind a closed business on Kichline Avenue at 2:34 a.m. Dec. 31 when an officer saw the car and went to check on their welfare.

Police said Okpe, the driver of the car, was also arrested for DUI and an open container violation.

Mickelson was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, police said.
