Man Charged After Allegedly Sending Threatening Texts, Police Say

Hellertown Police said Friday that a Schnecksville, Lehigh County man has been charged with terroristic threats and harassment by communication in relation to a recent incident in the borough.

Hellertown Police said Friday that a Schnecksville, Lehigh County man has been charged with terroristic threats and harassment by communication in relation to an alleged recent incident in the borough.

According to police, on or about Feb. 19 Scott Alan Spence, 53, of the 4200 block of Cheyenne Court, allegedly sent text messages to a resident of the 900 block of Birch Road “which consisted of threats to the victim’s welfare.”

After being arrested on a warrant and arraigned before District Judge David Tidd on March 3, Spence was released on $5,000 unsecured bail, police said.
