California Man Caused Rt. 378 Accident, Police Say

An Oakland, Calif., man allegedly caused an accident that injured another driver at Rt. 378 and Black River Road Monday, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Thursday.

An Oakland, Calif., man allegedly caused an accident that injured another driver at Rt. 378 and Black River Road Monday, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Thursday.

According to police, William McKee, 21, of the 400 block of 61st Street, exited the Speedway gas station from a driveway where there are DO NOT ENTER signs posted and was then struck by a southbound driver on Rt. 378 who “was unable to avoid” the accident.

The southbound vehicle then struck a utility pole, and its driver was transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

McKee is charged with failing to obey traffic control devices, failure to yield and careless driving, according to online court records.
