2016 Hellertown Cemetery Tours Set for July 21-22

Lovers of local history won’t want to miss the Hellertown Historical Society’s annual “History Lives” free tours at Union Cemetery of Hellertown on Thursday and Friday, July 21-22.

Lovers of local history won’t want to miss the Hellertown Historical Society’s annual “History Lives” free tours at Union Cemetery of Hellertown on Thursday and Friday, July 21-22.

The tours will feature several re-enactors depicting former well-known Hellertonians at their historic gravesites.

Featured this year will be:

  • Michael Campanella, portrayed by Terry Boos
  • William Carson, portrayed by David Pearson
  • Jessie “Nana” Peffer, portrayed by Dr. Susan Ackerman
  • John Pfeiffer, portrayed by Bill Frey

Tours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., and will depart from a tent in the upper portion of the cemetery.

In the event of rain on either night, one presentation by all the re-enactors will be held at 7 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Hellertown, 69 Main St., Hellertown.

Parking is available on the street in the area of Walnut Street and Rentzheimer Drive.
