William Eugene Frey, 92, of Hellertown, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Nancy W. (Wicks) Goodwin Frey and the late Irene N. (Nagorski) Frey. Bill was born in Hellertown on April 28, 1924 to the late Norman C. and Marion J. (Raudenbush) Frey. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with three Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. Bill worked as a yardmaster for PB&NE Railroad at the Bethlehem Steel Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Hellertown, and past Senior Warden for six years; past co-treasurer of the Hellertown Historical Society for 16 years; and a member of Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, life member of VFW Post 3094, Hellertown, and the 17th Airborne Division.

In addition to his loving wife of 13 years; son: William Truman Frey (Jane A.) of Hellertown; grandson: Robert William Frey of Hellertown. He was predeceased by son: Robert William Frey, in 1954; siblings: Harry, Truman and Loretta Stork.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 735 Delaware Ave., Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
