Breaking: Multi-Vehicle Wreck with Possible Fatality Reported on Wassergass Road

Local emergency responders raced to the scene of what is reportedly a serious car accident on Wassergass Road near Wilhelm Road in Lower Saucon Township Monday afternoon.

UPDATE: As of 7 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police were on their way to the accident scene to assist with the investigation. Wassergass Road remains closed to traffic from Wilhelm Road east.

Local emergency responders raced to the scene of what is reportedly a serious car accident on Wassergass Road near Wilhelm Road in Lower Saucon Township Monday afternoon.

According to a report from a Saucon Source reader, the wreck may have occurred when a motorist attempted to pass both another car and a cement truck and struck an oncoming vehicle.

Reports from the scene were that there was “heavy entrapment” in the vehicles and at least one person was unresponsive following the crash, which happened on the first day of school in the Saucon Valley.

The Facebook page Northampton County Emergency Alerts reported that a rescue was under way, one person was ejected from a vehicle, and that there the accident was being treated as a “Class 5,” which means it involves a fatality.

The crash scene is near 2247 Wassergass Road, which is near Petran Lane.
