Lower Saucon Man Admits to $1.5 Million QVC Theft

A 59-year-old Lower Saucon Township man who was formerly the director of lighting for television shopping network QVC admitted in federal court Monday to orchestrating several fraud schemes that netted him more than $1.5 million.

A 59-year-old Lower Saucon Township man who was formerly the director of lighting for television shopping network QVC admitted in federal court Monday to orchestrating several fraud schemes that netted him more than $1.5 million; money he used to help fund a lifestyle of luxury that included ownership of vacation homes in the Poconos and Hilton Head Island, the Morning Call reported Tuesday.

According to the article published by the newspaper, Douglas Rae, of Fire Lane, engaged in fraudulent billing by submitting invoices from dummy companies he created–for which he was ultimately fired–and now faces a maximum of 130 years in prison and a $1.75 million fine when he is sentenced Dec. 12.
