Stanley R. “Butch” Smith Jr., 65, of Hellertown, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at St. Luke’s University Hospital & Health Network, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Melody M. (Kresge) Smith. He was born in Allentown on Dec. 9, 1950 to the late Stanley R. Smith Sr. and Mildred F. (Bogert) Smith. He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. and retired from the Saucon Valley School District where he was a bus driver and a custodian at Saucon Valley Elementary School. Butch was an avid hunter and sportsman.

In addition to his loving wife of 28 years; daughters: Tamara L. Balliet of Easton, Misty F. (William D.) Petersen of Orefield; siblings: Carolyn M. (Robert) Stocklas of Nazareth, Bonnie L. (Leon) Kichline of West Fork, Ark., Jean A. (Richard) Johnson and Brenda L. (Jeffrey) King, all of Hellertown; grandchildren: James Balliet and Landon Louks.
