Caroline F. Vargo, 90, of Lower Saucon Township, formerly of Hazleton, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus.

Caroline F. Vargo, 90, of Lower Saucon Township, formerly of Hazleton, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Allentown Campus. She was the wife of George Vargo. She was born in Hazleton on May 31, 1926 to the late Matthew and Frances (Urbanek) Bunk. Caroline worked at Bishop Hafey High School as a cafeteria and maintenance staffperson for 19 years until retiring in 1996, and previously at the former Rydlers Knitting Mill, Hazleton, as a cutter for 20 years. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Colesville, and a former member of St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church, Hazleton. She was an avid Phillies and Steelers fan. She was very devoted to her family.

SURVIVORS

In addition to her husband of 66 years; daughters: Lori Vargo Heffner of Bethlehem, Michelle M. Quinn of West Hazleton; grandchildren: Melina Heffner, John Quinn Jr., Nicole Palko; great-granddaughter: Zionah. She was predeceased by granddaughter: Ashley Quinn; brother: Edward; sister: Charlotte.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday Nov. 18, 2016 at the church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem. There will be no calling hours. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
