The mother of two Saucon Valley students was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana during a child custody dispute with her children’s father at Saucon Valley Middle School, 2095 Polk Valley Road, Thursday morning, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Friday.
According to police, the Columbia, Pa., woman, was arrested after an officer who responded to help sort out the dispute shortly before 11:30 a.m. “detected the odor of marijuana upon her breath and indicators that she was under the influence.”
Police said a search of the woman’s vehicle revealed unprescribed prescription pills, in addition to the marijuana and paraphernalia, which she will be charged for possessing.
Following the dispute “the children remained at the school,” police said. They did not disclose the ages of the children, or whether county child protective services would be contacted as a result of the woman’s arrest.
Note: Saucon Source has withheld the identity of the woman because disclosing it could potentially have negative consequences for her children, who are minors and students at the school.
